Blurting out a few frustrations of being a Product manager:
- The never-ending bug hunt: As a software product manager, you know that bugs are inevitable. But sometimes it feels like you’re playing a never-ending game of whack-a-mole. Just when you think you’ve squashed one bug, another one pops up. It’s like the bugs are conspiring against you.
- Feature creep: Everyone has an opinion on what features your software should have. It’s your job to weigh the pros and cons of each suggestion and make a decision. But sometimes it feels like everyone wants the kitchen sink included in the software. You end up with a bloated mess that no one really wants.
- The blame game: When something goes wrong with the software, it’s easy to blame the product manager. After all, you’re responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly. But sometimes things are out of your control. You can’t control server crashes or user errors, but you still end up taking the blame.
- The never-ending meetings: As a product manager, you spend a lot of time in meetings. Meetings to discuss features, meetings to discuss bugs, meetings to discuss timelines. It’s like a never-ending cycle of meetings. You wonder if you’re actually getting any real work done.
- The pressure to innovate: In the tech industry, everyone wants to be on the cutting edge. It’s your job to make sure your software is innovative and ahead of the curve. But sometimes it feels like you’re trying to reinvent the wheel. It’s hard to come up with something truly groundbreaking when everything has already been done before.
But hey, at least you get to wear a cool title, right?
